History
In 1965, thanks to the drive and passion for tennis of Joaquin Gonzalez and M.Luisa Fernadez, the first tennis court was built in Monte Lourido. It led to the emergence of the tennis hobby in the area, which meant that those gatherings with family and friends to play tennis casually required the construction of more courts as well as social premises, changing rooms, and even the creation of necessary infrastructure in the area. the area as road accesses, leading in 1972 to Joaquin Gonzalez and M.Luisa Fernadez to establish Atobeira as a club and becoming promoters of tennis in the province.
Growth
From there, tennis in the area grew, causing our player, Sara Rigüela, to win the Vigo championship. As a result of this victory, the championship closed its doors to players not registered in Vigo. Anyway... Later Sara became Galician runner-up as well as doubles champion.
The first tennis school was generated by Andrews, an Englishman brought from London after training as a coach at the Lawn Tennis Club (home club of the iconic Wimbledon grand slam). From there the school evolved with other coaches, such as Ernesto Vazquez Davis Cup player, Sara Rigüela herself... being in the mid-80s the reference of Galician tennis for our players winning in all categories at the Galician level in addition to achieving as a club many other Galician team titles. Early 90s
In the early 90s, Quin Gonzalez, after obtaining good results at the Galician level, entered the Top Team high-performance school (known as Academia Bruguera, created by Luis Bruguera, from which players like Sergi Bruguera himself came out) at the same time as Emilio. Álvarez, Spanish junior champion, Pepe Imaz, Spanish cadet champion and many other players within the 30 best in Spain, as well as Eva Borras, currently a sports psychologist and former psychologist of Ana Ivanovic and Beto Lobeto, former coach of Muguruza and Khachanov .
Atobeira at the end of the 90s, the school changed and tournaments continue to be held such as the Galician veterans championship and we are co-host of the Iberian Cup as well as the headquarters of the Caja España national tennis championship.
Between 2000 and 2010, changing rooms were repaired, the South court, which was very deteriorated, was rebuilt and an important summer school was created.
Between 2010 - 2015

After 2015, Atobeira restructured the entire school and internal functioning under Quin González, providing a new, very elaborate working method based on extensive training in various fields, as well as on the guidelines and operation of the best tennis schools. from Barcelona, tennis reference.

The beaches: Next to the club, Playa América and the coves of Monte Lourido in our hand. Atobeira has always been sensitive to caring for the environment and the sustainability of resources. For several reasons,

A garden with fruit trees that every spring gives us the best of themselves, their delicious fruit and with native trees such as oak and pine, as well as other exotic ones. We also make sure that every season the club is filled with flowers of all colors. On the other hand, we receive visits from squirrels every spring, wild rabbits and birds that make their nests here…
